Who Should Enroll: Metal Processing personnel, machine shop superintendents, QA managers, heat treating operators and managers, component designers, technicians, marketing writers and individuals without a materials background wishing to better understand the role of materials science. This course provides understandings of what metals are, how they behave, and why they behave differently than non-metallic materials. This course will show how metals are processed to yield desired properties.

Who Should Enroll: Mechanical, industrial and manufacturing engineers, metallurgists, machine shop superintendents and managers in heat treating operations and individuals requiring an understanding of heat treatments. Practical Heat Treating is a comprehensive course that covers heat treatments of carbon, alloy, stainless and tool steels. In this course, there is an additional emphasis on process applications, including valuable information on atmosphere control, quenching, temperature control and the type of equipment that is proper for different types of heat treating operations.
