Synthetic Biodegradable Polymers for Tissue Engineering

Dr. Antonio G. Mikos

Antonios G. Mikos is the J.W. Cox Professor of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering at Rice University. He is the Director of the J.W. Cox Laboratory for Biomedical Engineering and the Director of the Center for Excellence in Tissue Engineering at Rice University. He received his Dipl.Eng. (1983) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and his Ph.D. (1988) from Purdue University, both in Chemical Engineering. From 1990-1991, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School. He joined the Rice faculty in 1992 as the T.N. Law Assistant Professor of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1996 and to Professor in 1999.
