Super Seamless Corrosion Resistant Tubulars

john gandyMr. John Gandy has served Oil and Gas Industry for more than 45 years and has held many executive positions in tubular specialty companies. He was President of Summit Tubular in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (previously Grant Corporation Ltd); Executive Vice President of Grant Oil Country Tubular Corporation, Division of Grant/Prideco; President and Chief Operating Officer of Seal Tech Corporation acquired by Grant/Prideco; Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tubular Corporation of America, division of Grant/Prideco and President and Chief Operating Officer of Interlock Technologies, division of Hunting Energy Services. In 1988 Mr. Gandy founded two companies and is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Gandy Technologies Corporation devoted to specialty OCTG thread technology and John Gandy Corporation committed to tubular manufacturing technology.

To meet world demand for fossil fuel it is essential to drill for oil and gas held captive in harsh high pressure – high temperature (HPHT) environmentally sensitive areas under deep waters of ocean floor. Huge volumes of fossil fuel reservoirs will be needed to justify HPHT investment risk. The production will require Corrosion Resistant Alloy (CRA) tubulars to safely bring fossil fuels to surface. The current tubulars are limited in manufacturing capability – both bore size and length availability. Super Seamless Corrosion Resistant tubular addresses short coming of the present day manufacturing through new technology which provide larger bore sizes for increased production and longer lengths to substantially reduce cost. The new technology was developed by John Gandy Corporation for manufacturing large OD, nickel base, high yield strength tubulars for HPHT applications.
