“Corrosion In the Energy Transition”

Presented by David Engel, Ph.D. – Managing Director, Nexo Solutions

Presentation Summary:

Natural gas in general and methane in particular are seen today as the hydrocarbons to enable the energy transition to a cleaner world. Methane has the lowest CO2 emission per unit of energy related to all other hydrocarbons. In production of natural gas, it is necessary to remove several contaminants prior to entering the gas pipeline, these are predominately H2S, CO2, and water. This presentation will address several corrosion related events during the production and processing of natural gas, in addition to root causes and mitigation strategies.
