Plant Tour and Speaker Information
BBQ dinner from Aunt Pookies provided by ARC Specialties
Beer provided by St Arnolds
ARC Specialties designs and builds automated manufacturing systems. Guests will observe the entire process: from the application development lab, through engineering, machining and fabrication, wiring and assembly and commissioning. Guests will see systems in various stages of completion including hot wire gas tungsten arc clad welding, robotic GMA and GTA welding, palletizing and finishing.
Dispelling the Fear of Hydrogen in Shielding Gases for Corrosion Resistant Overlays on high Strength Steels
Dave will discuss the effects of hydrogen in welding shielding gas on weld and base metal properties. Tensile, impact, hardness and guided bend data will be presented along with diffused and total hydrogen analysis and photomicrographs. Dave will also describe the Inclusion Ratioâ (IR) test developed by ARC to quantify the potential for PT indications when using a given filler metal and procedure.
